As a lifelong animal lover, I have shared my home with a lot of pets over the years. I can say without hyperbole that getting a new puppy or kitten is one of the most exciting moments of a pet person’s life. Seeing that sweet face for the first time, holding a future best friend in your arms… it’s just the best.
The video below introduces us briefly to a wife who thought she was giving her husband the best surprise ever, only to find out that he was keeping an adorable secret of his own.

“They wanted to adopt a puppy but couldn’t agree which breed they would get since they liked different breeds,” the commenter stated. “So, as a surprise, the wife got the breed the husband wanted, not knowing that her husband adopted the breed she wanted on the same day.”
TLDR: adorable people are adorable. This is some straight up “Gift of the Magi” shit, but even better.
